Meh, I'm back on IceCat. Pale Moon would consume one of my entire cores, for some reason. I can't deal with that. I just don't have a million tabs open at once anymore.

When using IceCat, you know you're using a fully supported FSF browser. That is something that must feel good.

Pale Moon is licensed under the GPL, so there were no ethical issues with it. However, GNU developed IceCat, so that makes it better.

I completely agree.

Manjaro OpenRC didn't have IceCat. Screw those guys.

You can't have a real GNU/Linux distro without IceCat.

Clearly not.

I really think IceCat is a winner, when thinking about the combination of being build on Firefox and fully support the Libre philosophy.

I wish I could get Iridium to compile. That's supposedly libre, but I'm not sure I want to use a filthy The Botnet derivative, even if it's free.

That's why I prefer browsers based off of Firefox. Firefox is open source, and they believe in the open source community. Their one big flaw is to allow proprietary plugins/add ons.

That's hard to get away from, unfortunately. I wonder if it's possible to install proprietary add-ons in IceCat.

Also, I admit I disable LibreJS, or half the freaking websites on the intarwebz don't work...

IceWeasel is okay. My machine won't compile IceCat.

...actually, forget IceWeasel. I'm using Pale Moon again. This time it's not taking up an entire one of my cores.

Pale Moon is a good browser.

I like it. Way faster than any other Firefox variant, even IceCat. I just refuse to use vanilla Firefox, and Chrome/Chromium are completely out of the question.

I try to avoid Chrome/Chromium too. The Botnet just can't be trusted. I have also started using IceCat more, since it's about trying to be more consistent in my progress of becoming more Libre everything.

What browsers are available in Trisquel? Obviously IceCat, but is Chromium even in their repository? I would think not, but who knows. Also, refusing to use Flash is a pain too with some sites. It's disgusting how many devs have refused to move to HTML5.
